Small Change Movie Review



François Truffaut's movies are filled with sweet observations, invariably from a detached viewpoint. Small Change is a delightful romp with a group of school children. At one point, a small child topples from a high building, lands on his fanny in some soft bushes, then laughs his head off. Kids bounce back from life at its hardest, Truffaut says. They live through experiences that would shatter adults, pick themselves up and go right on living, all the more resilient for their brushes with hardship. If only it really were that simple….
