Reno's Kids: 87 Days Plus 11 Movie Review
Reno's Kids: 87 Days Plus 11 is the first documentary feature by actress Whitney (Dorothy Baxter on NBC's Hazel, 1961–65) Blake. The director is justifiably proud of her film, which shows a semester in the life of Daly City teacher Reno Taini and his life-toughened students, who learn how to confront the system head-on and win. Blake has selected some extraordinary footage of the class at work and at play, a technique which serves the film's purpose far better than the traditional talking-heads format.
