The Refrigerator Movie Review

A crowd pleaser at 1991's Mill Valley Film Festival is The Refrigerator, a movie that will strike terror into the hearts of anyone who's ever walked into a kitchen. Julia (The Unbelievable Truth) McNeal plays Eileen, a young actress married to Steve (David Amateur Simonds), the biggest jerk in Manhattan. They move into a dump on the Lower East Side, expecting to fix it up, but the apartment soon possesses them both, day and night. The worst culprit is the refrigerator from Hell, an unlikely but photogenic fiend. Nicholas A.E. Jacobs’ low-budget film is laced with horror and humor and benefits from a strong cast, including some devastating performances from the inanimate actors.
