Reasons of State Movie Review

This film about a hypocritical Latin American dictator was co-produced in Mexico, Cuba, and France. Despite a skimpy budget of $2 million, Chilean director Miguel Littin has made a film of epic dimensions, shooting in all three countries and employing a huge cast. Unhappily, Reasons of State suffers from sluggish pacing and a 145-minute run time. Too many cooks, perhaps?
