Persuasion Movie Review

Admirers of Jane Austen won't want to miss Persuasion, starring Amanda Root as a selfless Austen heroine swayed from the course of true love by family considerations. This delicately played study of English country life circa 1814 features a spirited performance by Root and a fine supporting cast: Corin Redgrave and Sophie Thompson from Four Weddings and a Funeral, Phoebe Nicholls from Brideshead Revisited, and the late Susan Fleetwood from Heat and Dust.
