Love Jones Movie Review

A contemporary Chicago nightclub, the Sanctuary, is the gathering spot for middle-class black urbanites looking for romance. Would-be writer/poet Darius (Larenz Tate) spouts provocative verse to beautiful photographer Nina (Nia Long), who's not too happy with men at the moment (she's just been dumped). But they make a connection, with both protesting a little too much that's it just a “sex thing.” Funny what happens when love clearly enters the picture. Theodore Witcher's directorial debut features fine lead performances.
