Incorporated France Movie Review

Alain Corneau's France, Incorporated offers a shattering sci-fi speculation on what life would be like in the year 2222 if hard drugs were legalized. The versatile Canadian actress Allyn Ann McLerie (Words and Music, Phantom of the Rue Morgue, The Reivers, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, Cinderella Liberty, All the President's Men) is well cast as a tough-minded businesswoman who attempts to commercialize heroin as aggressively as cigarettes were marketed in the 1950s. There is nothing pretty about the sex and violence in this X-rated fantasy. The interesting premise occasionally lapses into facile slickness, though.
