The Daytrippers Movie Review

Produced by Steven Soderbergh, Greg Mottola's The Daytrippers follows a family as they try to patch up the ailing marriage of the older daughter, Eliza (Hope Davis). Is husband Louis (Stanley Tucci) having an affair or what? The Daytrippers is more concerned with the “or what” than the affair. What adult daughter would let herself be dragged around by Mom and Dad (Anne Meara and Pat McNamara), sister Jo (Parker Posey), and would-be brother-in-law Carl (Liev Schreiber)? Somehow, Mottola makes the characters and situations seem funny and real and it doesn't hurt one bit that Marcia Gay Harden and co-producer Campbell Scott are also in the cast.
