Bride of the Monster Movie Review

The 1994 movie Ed Wood wasn't kidding: In order to secure financing from Donald E. McCoy, the owner of the Packing Service Corporation, Wood had to hire his son Tony as Lieutenant Dick Craig. A star was born, but only for this movie. Bela Lugosi has a bit more oomph than usual as Dr. Eric Vornoff; he's a great mad scientist and his sequence opposite a rubber octopus in Griffith Park is a highlight. Tor Johnson is also a welcome presence as Lobo. The rest of the cast is your standard Ed Wood stock company—under-rehearsed and overacting! While lacking the rock bottom aesthetics and existential wretchedness of Plan 9 from Outer Space, Bride is still pretty terrible in its own right and it's a must-see for all true Wood buffs.
