The Addiction Movie Review

Abel Ferrara's The Addiction is to Ms. 45 what Francis Coppola's The Cotton Club was to The Godfather: a structural re-tread only worshippers at directors’ shrines could love. Lili Taylor is excellent as always in the protagonist role, and it's fun to see perennial good girl Annabella Sciorra as a vampire, but Christopher Walken wraps it up as usual in one scene-stealing sequence that makes you wish the rest of the movie had been that good and that funny instead of the pretentious mess it is. It's shot in jokey black and white to minimize the gore.
