A biography of the man who devoted much of his life to photographing the American Indian in the early part of the 20th century. Curtis was unable to fulfill his dream of photographing every North American tribe before his death in 1952, but he uncovered previously unknown aspects of the Battle of Little Big Horn and translated much vocabulary.
